Pep Guardiola says he is “embarrassed and ashamed” for berating a camera operator at the end of Manchester City’s defeat by Newcastle and has apologised for his behaviour.
The City manager clashed with the cameraman and appeared to aim a few choice words in his direction after seeing his side lose 2-1 at St James’ Park on Saturday evening. Guardiola admitted he was “not perfect” and was sorry for his actions.
“I apologised,” the City manager said. “I feel embarrassed, ashamed when I see it. I don’t like it. I apologised after one second to the cameraman. I am who I am. After 1,000 games I’m not a perfect person, I make huge mistakes. It’s not about that. What is for sure, I defend any team and my club, that’s for sure.
